One phone call puts you in touch with a trained professional who will listen to your concerns and answer your questions regarding a variety of issues, including:
Staff will answer your question, direct you to the appropriate agency or set up a visit to discuss your needs further. They can also provide informational pamphlets and other materials to help you. Senior Services, Inc. has partnered with the Mental Health Association of South Central Kansas, the United Way 211 and Comcare of Sedgwick County to help persons age 60 and over who could benefit from mental health services. Community members will be trained to look for the warning signs of depression or other mental health concerns. With the individual's permission an assessment will be completed so the individual can receive up to 10 home visits by a licensed counselor. Senior Services, Inc. will be especially vigilant with the homebound population utilizing staff, volunteers and peers to refer eligible individuals to our Information and Assistance coordinator. The general public can utilize the United Way's 211 phone assistance. To learn more about this important service please call 267-0122 or click here. Information/Assistance - Aging has access to information about over 600 services. If you need information about services outside of Sedgwick County, the staff can guide you to resources throughout the United States.
